2023 Annual Report
On behalf of Planting Seeds, I want to thank you for your support this past year and share how God has continued to change lives through this ministry. As we reflect back on the amazing work He performed through our ministry in 2023, it is incredible to think how much this organization has grown, and the impact it has had, in such a short period of time. In 2018, Planting Seeds was formed with the mission of delivering gently-used, donated household items as a vehicle to share the gospel of Jesus with those in our community that are in a place of need. That first year, with limited resources and just a couple of volunteers, we were able to deliver on this mission and bless 35 families. Little did we know that God was just getting started! At the close of 2023, Planting Seeds has now reached 1,043 total families, and over 3,400 people - truly amazing! Most importantly, we remain committed to our mission of sharing God’s word by providing encouragement to others to seek Jesus and provide Bibles to each and every family.
Similar to years past, in 2023, Planting Seeds connected with hundreds of families and individuals across the Miami Valley that continue to have critical needs for beds, home furnishings, and other household items. Through the tremendous support of our volunteers, community partners, and donors, Planting Seeds was able to bless these families with thousands of household items and share the word of God with many people in desperate need of Him. Below are some remarkable numbers and highlights of the life-changing impact your support has helped provide the over 1,000 families in the Miami Valley touched by Planting Seeds:
We delivered over 16,971 household items.
That number includes 1,281 beds, 268 couches, and 1,643 kitchen chairs.
Those household items add up to nearly 706,000 pounds, or 353 tons!
Through generous donations of our partners, Secret Smiles and Morris Furniture, we have been able to deliver 456 brand new beds.
Without your support, this would not be possible. We ask that you continue to donate your gently used household items. We also ask that you consider making a financial contribution to support Planting Seeds’ mission. Your financial support helps our organization acquire new beds, appliances, and other items for families in need; monetary donations also help defer expenses related to fuel costs for the nearly 800 pickups and deliveries we make each year.
